The Indiana Muskie Classic will be held May 16-18, and Steve Heiting is scheduled to be the featured speaker on Friday night.
"I'm very much looking forward to this event. The Classic is a fun, upbeat tournament, and all proceeds go to the Indiana musky fishery," Steve said. "The Hoosier Muskie Hunters Chapter of Muskies Inc., (which organizes the tournament) is a first class club and that reflects in this event.
"Plus, the Indiana musky 'bite' is usually in full force in mid May and I can't wait to try to hook up with a big Hoosier musky."
The last time Steve was in Indiana for the tournament, he concluded his stay filming an episode of Musky Hunter TV with host Jim Saric and local guide and Musky Hunter Field Editor Mike Hulbert. "The show was highlighted by muskies measuring 46 and 44 inches. That's the kind of quality you can find in Indiana," Steve said.
Steve Heiting Outdoors is once again offering a free Mepps H210 spinner when you order $75 or more in merchandise from this site. This lure -- in a custom color chosen by Steve that's not available anywhere else -- has a suggested retail price of $36. The lure has a black nickel blade and a chartreuse painted blade.
"Not only do these different blades produce contrast, which has been shown in Mepps' underwater studies to be highly visible to fish in all water colors and clarities, but the vibration produced by the different-weight blades can be highly effective," Steve noted. "This is one of my go-to colors."
